Easy No Bake | 4th of July Flag Cake

Not only is this flag cake recipe delicious, it's so easy the kids can help too!


Spongey pound cake makes the perfect vehicle for rich hazelnut spread, fresh tart fruits, and smooth cool whip in this delicious 4th of July flag cake. This recipe is a favorite of my kids' and it is requested every year. I can't lie, I love it too! It also makes the perfect dessert to bring to any patriotic celebration and no one will know it's not homemade. ;)



Ingredients:

2 - 16 oz. frozen pound cakes

1 jar hazelnut spread

3-4 cups of fresh strawberries

1.5 cups of blueberries

1 16 oz tub of frozen cool whip


Directions:


Step 1: Wash and dry fresh strawberries and blueberries. Cut the tops off the strawberries and slice them thin to medium thickness.



Step 2: Cut both pound cakes lengthwise, dividing them into top and bottom halves.


Step 3: For the first layer, put two halves of the pound cake in the bottom of an 13x9 inch baking dish. Spread a generous amount of hazelnut spread over the pound cake. Next, evenly sprinkle 1 cup of blueberries. Then, add 2 cups of sliced strawberries. Finally, spread a couple of spoonfuls of whipped cream over the fruit.


Step 4: Place the remaining 2 halves of pound cake over the first layer and spread the remaining cool whip evenly over the top.


Step 5: Arrange remaining blueberries and strawberries in a flag pattern over the cool whip and you're done!
